Your Restart isn't over yet!

You did it! You finished the 5 Day Restart.  I hope you had some breakthroughs and are excited about living in your new home. I know God has big plans for you! Take a listen to this video where Bree and I share with you what we've got planned for you for the next 2 days AND for the upcoming month. In this video I read some inspiring words from Mark Batterson's book "All In".  Follow along as I read, (words are below)

"You were designed for more than a life of following a few religious dos and don’ts. Your heart longs for more than an hour of worship each week and a few minutes of devotional reading in the morning. The Christian faith is not boring, mundane, or safe. It is the greatest adventure any human being can ever experience.  Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshiping what’s right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze new trails. Don’t let fear dictate your decisions. Take a flying leap of faith. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Push all of your chips to the middle of the table. It’s time to ante up all of your faith. It’s time to go all in. It’s time to go all out."

Day 6:

I'm assuming you signed up for our Restart Challenge because there was some area in your life that you felt needed a fresh start.  There was something in your life that you wanted to change.  Studies show that change typically happens because (1) the situation we are in is painful or (2) you have a clear picture of where you want to go.

Picture your life in 10, 20 or even 30 years. Imagine you have good health. You have strength and energy. You are at peace and you are experiencing the "Joy Always" that the Bible talks about. You are able to serve God and live fully until He calls you home. I hope that vision excites you and motivates you to change.

Now, grab a sheet of paper and write down why you want to get physically and spiritually.  Why are you motivated to make healthy changes? Then, on that same sheet of paper write down your goals for the next 30 days. Like I mentioned in the video make them Action Goals, don't make them about results. Don't write down what you want (I want to lose 10 lbs or I want to grow closer to God), write down what you will do (I will exercise 4 times a week for at least 20 min. or I will read my Bible 3 mornings a week) Hang your motives and goals up someplace where you will see them often.

Last thing for today,  what are some obstacles that could get in your way of reaching your goals? In the past, what has pulled you off course? What can you do to to prevent those obstacle from becoming an issue? Who can you ask to help you and hold you accountable?

Day 7:

Be still and know that I am God
— Psalm 46:10

Today, we just want you to sit quietly with God. Try and set aside at least 30 minutes, but you can definitely sit with him for longer! Try and come before God without an agenda, and just ask him what's on his heart and his mind. Ask him all the questions you want, ask Him to help you in any area of your life that you are struggling with and even if you don't "feel" any different after sitting with him, I can promise you that he is doing a good work in your heart!

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
— Psalm 47:7

In the meantime, tell us what you enjoyed about our 5-day Restart! We'd LOVE to get your feedback.
