Making Disciples Made Practical!

My name is Michelle Spadafora, founder of Faithful Workouts, and I am so excited to announce our 4-week teaching series on discipleship. There's a good chance you've heard sermons or read Bible verses about The Great Commission where Jesus tells us to go and make disciples. And even though you may be familiar with Jesus' command, are you really living it out?

I have found from numerous conversations with other Christians that most of us have no idea what it actually looks like to go and make disciples. In fact, we actually believe it's best to leave that to the church leaders.

We reduce discipleship to a canned program, and so many in the church end up sidelined in a spectator mentality that delegates disciple making to pastors and professionals, ministers and missionaries. But this is not the way it’s supposed to be.

If you read the Bible you will see that God's Plan A is for you and me to be the ones who go! If we are a follower of Jesus we are absolutely called to come alongside others and share the love and truth of Jesus with them.

You do NOT have to be a perfect Christian to make disciples!

You do not have to have it all together, or have 100's of scriptures memorized. You just have to have a willing and open heart! As you can see from the picture to the right (where I'm showcasing my amazing fashion sense by wearing my sons coat over my robe), I am far from perfect. But I know what God's asked me to do, and my heart is to follow him. If that's your heart, this is the study for you.

We know we're supposed to GO out into all the world and make disciples, but practically speaking, how do we do that?

This idea of preparing the harvesters is a passion that God has been speaking to me about for a while. Jesus says in Mark 9:37, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." There are people in your community who desperately need to know about the love and truth of Jesus. My hope is through this 4-week study God will prepare your heart and open your eyes to who He has planned for you to reach out to.

If you're wanting to learn how you can live out Jesus' last mandate to us on earth, this 4-week teaching series is for you. We're going to take you through the what, the why and the how of disciple making through a series of live teachings where you can feel free to ask questions and engage with other participants. These 4 weeks will equip with the confidence and practical knowledge to help you to go out into the world and make disciples. If you're ready go, what are you waiting for? Join us today!

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20

So how will these next 4 weeks work? Simple! First, sign up by entering your name and email. We'll send you an email right away with all the details you'll need to join us for our live teaching sessions. We will meet live the first four Tuesdays in May (the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th) at 5pm MST. Each of our 4 weeks will focus on a particular pillar of discipleship, and I'm excited to have my husband Jeff (a Christian Life Coach and author of The Joy Model) as a special guest for some of our sessions! Each week we'll supply you with practical questions to answer on your own to help you really absorb the topics covered. Simply click on the + signs below to learn more about what we'll go through together through these next 4 weeks.

+ Week 1 - The What & Why

Week 1 begins by clarifying What it means to be a disciple and then finishes with Why we should go and make disciples? What did Jesus mean when he said go out into all the world? Only when we understand the biblical foundations of discipleship can move forward into week 2.

+ Week 2 - The Motive

Week 2 focuses on love - our motive for going and making discipeles is important. We need to understand the love that God has for us, the love we need to have for ourselves as well as his command for us to love others. Love is the foundation of everything we do as Christians, and we believe it has to be the foundation of disciple-making as well.

+ Week 3 - The How

In week 3, we'll start to share The How behind making disiciples. How do you find someone to disciple? How do you prepare your own heart? How can you make sure you're being filled up and not just pouring out? This week will help prepare you for some of the more practical aspects of discipling someone.

+ Week 4 - The Resources: You can do this!

In week 4 we give you resources that you can use to begin discipling others. We'll break down even further what discipling can look like in your life. You don't have to have it all figured out! You just have to be willing. After this week, you'll feel confident and prepared with the both the foundational and practical knowledge of how to disciple.

Let's spread the light and love of Christ! Let's make disciples!
