Faithful Workouts' Be The Light Love Challenge

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
— Matthew 5:14-16

Congrats to our randomly selected challenge winners Lisa, Susan and Cindy!

And thank you to everyone who participated in our Be The Light challenge last week!

We were so amazed and inspired reading through all of your stories from this past week - you're all incredible! We've included a few of the stories we received below to offer you up some inspiration to keep going out into the lord and spreading your light. God has blessed you in unique ways, and there are people that you can reach that others won't be able to. So thank you again to all who participated!

We'll be announcing our winner here tomorrow, but in the meantime, check out how some of our Faithful Workouts' community spread their light and love this past week!

I reached out to a neighbor down the street who I don’t know. This is a 35ish mother of 3 whose husband passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago. We got a lot of snow this weekend. This woman’s driveway was not plowed and their was no way she’d be able to drive her car out for work on Monday if it didn’t get cleaned up. My husband is out of town and I had never used our snowblower (I’m so lucky to have an awesome husband to take care of these things for me). I called him to let him know I want to clean our neighbors driveway so he told me over the phone how to use it. I turned it on, and pushed it down the street and cleared my neighbors driveway. She didn’t answer the door when I knocked to introduce myself, but I prayed that she feels blessed that someone cares about her. I feel blessed with the opportunity to spread God’s glory with everything he has given me and they prayers I can say for my neighbor.

I invited 4 people at work this past week (including my boss) to come worship with our church Sunday and to get to see me in the worship band! And guess what...3 out of 4 showed up today (in one car) for our 11 o’clock service! I was so happy for them as I know they do not attend church very often and one was just going through a divorce! Lord is great, Amen!

Paris is gray all winter. It is my mission to be a light in little ways like rays of sunshine peeking through the grim, grimey winter blahs. When I am in line at the grocery store, I let people go ahead of me...usually a harried mom or senior citizen who eyes my cart filled with stuff for 5 people and despairs at the time. The light in their face is the best sunshine all day.

We handed out blankets, protein bars, bottled water and Bibles to the homeless. Took several teens with us to visit the nursing home, the teens not me sang for each of them in their rooms. Had lunch with a lady that was sitting alone in Burger King, she just enjoyed having someone to talk to.

After hearing that our family’s entire meal had been paid for by an anonymous someone at Waffle House, we gave our waitress a 100 percent tip to pay it forward and spread God’s love with her!
— A.B.
We invited 5 teen boys to have an all night gaming party in a Christian environment with our teen son! They had a great time!

We have invited a single mom and her daughters to a “Royal Dinner” on Saturday. I served as “maid”, my husband was the “butler” and my teen son was the “footman”. I cooked a special three course dinner and we served it and them and ate with them. I set the table with only the best dinnerware and flatware. They receive a printed “I am a child of the King” printout to take home :)

We had the blessing to give groceries to about 40 families. A nearby ministry received the goods from one of the foundations for Hurricane victims relief, and we were able to help 40 families, some of them were almost out of food already. Recovering from Hurricane Maria here in Puerto Rico is a big challenge, and people have many expenses and problems and every little help makes them feel and know God hasn’t forgotten them.

I shared the light by exercising with friends. Even though we have almost 10 inches of snow right now, we can exercise together inside & have fun while doing so!
— J.D.
I sent a texts to 15 of my favorite women letting them know that they are a beautiful woman, cherished by God, beloved daughters of the King and that I was praying for them.
— T.K.
A woman I know was telling me she was sick & having trouble sleeping. I know she is not a believer. I felt God telling me to pray for her to sleep peacefully. She said yes when I offered to pray. Jesus is pursuing her, I feel! She then opened up to me and told me how her heart had hardened and why. I am praying for her salvation.

Gave a card to my husband with a list of the things I love about him. Invited a friend to Ladies Bible Study at my church. Going to the nursing home with a few women from church on Tuesday to do a Valentines Day craft with them :)
