Getting Started on the FW Forum

Christine is such a HUGE Blessing to Faithful Workouts. I wanted to do a forum but really didn't know how they work. I got an email from Christine who said, "If you ever wanted to do a forum, I could help you with it". Talk about an answer to prayer! Here is some information she put together on how to get started with our forum.

My name is Christine and Michelle has blessed me with the opportunity to help out with the forum. It's a learning process for everyone, so keep that in mind. We'll all learning together. I hope to explain how to use the forum in the simplest way possible here! :)

This post is for all of those who have signed up for the Faithful Workouts FREE F3 (faith, fitness, food) plan and are interested in learning how to use the fitness forum.  If you haven't checked out the new website or signed up for the FREE F3 (faith, fitness, food) plan, I highly recommend doing so! By signing up, you gain access to over 40 fitness videos, a menu plan, inspirational readings, an online cookbook with 100's of recipes, contests & prizes, a fitness forum and more.

When you first go to the forum page you will need to create an account. Once you have done this you will need to sign in when you want to participate in the forum. One you sign in, look to the right towards the top of the page, and you will see the word "Channels".  Under channels, you will see different topics.  It will look like this:

General Discussion

Prayer Requests

Home & Beauty

Contests & Challenges

Each topic under the word "Channels" represents an area of the forum where you can make a post specific to that topic.  You can do this in 1 of 2 ways.

The first way is by clicking on the appropriate topic under channels before posting. For example, if you have a prayer request, click on "prayer requests" under Channel.  That will take you to the area of the forum where prayer requests are to be shared.  At the top of the page, simply type in the title of your post and add your request to the body and click on post.  Anyone can reply to your request, or start their own.

Another example would be if you had a question about how to modify a certain exercise, you would click on "fitness" under Channels and post your question there.

The second way is by posting right from the main page (in the box that says "start a new topic") and choosing the appropriate channel topic from the "select a channel" drop down menu next to the post button.  So, if you start a new post on the main page about a recipe you want to share, you can write it out and before posting, you would choose "recipes" from the "select a channel" drop down menu, and then post.

This is easier than I'm probably making it sound!

You will note that each topic under Channels has a post by me that says "Start here". You want to read that first to see the purpose of that specific topic. They're pretty self-explanatory but I wanted to include an intro to each topic just to make sure that everyone would have a better understand of what to post in that specific area of the forum.

*Please note that there are a bunch of discussions that started under the topic "recipes" that are not related to recipes. That was inadvertent, but okay.  We are currently determining if those discussions can be moved to the appropriate topic area.  If not, it's no big deal.  As I said, this is a learning process and a journey we will take together!

Please feel free to post any comments or questions!  I'd love to know, did I confuse you or was this clear? :)

God bless!  See you on the forums.
